Welcome to the Wyndonshire Renaissance Faire!

Hear ye!

In days of yore, in the realm of Wyndonshire, there reigned three nobles. The Blue King, who hailed from an ancient bloodline, held sway over the kingdom and by his authority the blue knights enforced the king’s will. But a Green Queen there was also, whose family was just as old and proud, and her power was rising. With her retinue of green knights, she gathered forces to her and the people were subject then to her will as well. And, not far in a fortress, lived the Red Baron, whose family had climbed up from hedge knights and who had every intention to reach the top. When the baron observed the Green Queen’s strength, he too rallied red knights to his command, as he waited and watched for his moment to strike. Meanwhile, vikings and pirates continued to plunder the realm. Monstrous trolls were once more seen beyond the borders of the Faywood and wicked witches began to gather in the northern forest, meeting in the black of night and practicing their spellcraft and bewitchments. A dragon was even seen flying south, which the folk of Wyndonshire took as an ill omen.

Everyone in the realm thought that war was afoot, that soon bloodshed would erupt throughout the land. But, the Blue King proposed a peace-weaving match, between his beloved daughter and the son of his greatest rival, the Green Queen. The queen was surprised, after preparing for battle, and thought this was an opportunity not to be missed. It was agreed between queen and king that their children would unite the realm, so they announced the grandest Faire Wyndonshire had ever known, both a tournament and a wedding. Knights of the realm and from nearby fiefdoms seeking fame and glory added their names to the lists in anticipation of a fierce melee tournament. While the preparations were made for the youths’ arranged matrimony, all three high nobles plotted in secret how they should take power when the time was right.

All throughout the realm of Wyndonshire the word went out, from the Shirewood to the Fairy Grove, and travelers came from east and from west, to attend the great wedding as merchants and guests. Musicians, artisans, and craftsfolk too, ready to see the wonders and marvels at the Wyndonshire Renaissance Faire.
